At OnParLandscaping, we recently completed a full-service backyard transformation in the prestigious Casa Loma area of Toronto. This project required a blend of creativity, technical skill, and attention to detail to turn a disjointed and uneven outdoor space into a stunning, multifunctional backyard retreat — complete with a dedicated dog play area, new interlock borders, and sod installation for a lush, green lawn.

The homeowner wanted a clean, modern, and pet-friendly space that would improve flow and maximize usability. The existing backyard had uneven grading, aging interlock, and poor layout separation. Our mission was to restore, enhance, and reinvent the space with natural elements and functional upgrades, all while improving curb appeal and outdoor living quality.

We began by completely leveling the backyard, correcting years of soil shifting and uneven terrain to create a smooth, even foundation for all landscaping features. This critical step ensures longevity and proper drainage for years to come.

Next, we restored the existing interlock, pressure-washing and re-leveling aged pavers for a refreshed look. We then expanded the patio area with new interlock stones and added bold borders for a clean, defined design that complements the surrounding architecture. To improve accessibility, we constructed a separate interlocking walkway from the side door directly to the main backyard, creating a clear and elegant path distinct from the main driveway entrance.

A highlight of this project was the complete sod installation in the front section of the backyard, offering a soft, vibrant lawn space. A black metal fence was installed to visually and functionally separate this section from the rear gravel-filled area, which serves as a dedicated dog play zone — a practical, low-maintenance solution for pet owners. To enhance flow to the guest house, we installed a natural stone pathway, blending beautifully into the landscape and creating a rustic, timeless look.

To elevate the aesthetics of the main entry path to the backyard, we added river rocks along the sides of the walkway for a clean, organic contrast. We also planted lush green bushes along the metal fence line for a layered, nature-inspired finish.
